World War I
Draft Registration Cards
for Japanese Men in Hood River County, Oregon
(Family History Library microfilm #1852057)
Back to Military Records
In 1917 and 1918, all men between between the ages of 18 and 45 (born 1872 to 1900) were required to register for the draft, regardless of citizenship. I tried to photocopy the cards of all the Japanese men in Hood River County, but I can't promise that I got all of them!
The spellings here may not be correct. In most cases these forms were filled in by hand, and I have tried to transcribe them as accurately as possible, but there may be differences in spelling or spelling errors. I have listed these in alphabetical order by last name, as they were microfilmed, but I suspect that some of these may have the family name and given name switched on the form, so look under both.
Jeffrey Bryant has posted scans of these and other Hood River draft cards on his website. If you cannot find one of the people below on his site and are interested in the information from the draft card of a relative listed here, contact me. If you want a photocopy, I'll ask you to send me a self-addressed stamped envelope, since I spent a chunk of change copying these.
